Michael says: “I have built an organization from scratch and so have leadership and political organizing skills. I have a proven commitment to social justice and the principles of the Green Party, and a strong sense of the relation between knowledge, economy and politics that contributes to the those principles.”
Michael has worked as an actor, singer, freelance writer and art critic. He has also worked in the Department of Corrections and has helped in the running of a number of workers unions, including the Hospital and Restaurant Workers union and the Postal Workers Union. He is now a Trade Union Organisor on the university staff and is studying for an M.A. in Philosophy.
Michael has been involved in a number of community groups: he was a Board Member for the Wellington
SPCA for several years and is still involved in the Philippines Solidarity Network of Aotearoa and the Campaign Against Foreign Control of Aotearoa.
He has a strong commitment to social justice and experience and interest in a diverse range of public policy issues, such as education, trade and finance, employment, social welfare and the arts.
Having founded several organizations from scratch, Michael has developed strong leadership and organisation skills. His study of philosophy has given him valuable analytic skills.
