Food is one of the most import things in our lives, and yet we often have no idea what we are eating, where it has come from or what it will do to us. The Green Party wants our food to be safe to eat, properly labelled and free of GE, antibiotics and pesticides. We have run a major Food Revolution campaign for the last two years, a well as winning government programmes for the organics industry and school nutrition.

Deformed calves don't enhance NZ's image, AgResearch

A huge press statement by AgResearch today in which it tries to justify its application to genetically engineer a wide range of animals, plus human and monkey cells, inadvertently shows sad downsides to GE research such as deformed foetuses and calves. It admits a less than 9 percent live birth rate, aborted deformed foetuses, deformed calves and gangrenous udders but strangely denies there are animal welfare concerns.
